Born October 15, 1821 in the village Wellingholzhausen in northern Germany.

Arrived in New York on October 26, 1842 and appears in the passenger list as Casper Lecher, unfortunately no ship is mentioned.

During a U.S. Census in 1900 he lived with his family in Sycamore, Hamilton, Ohio: wife Anna (*1826 in Germany) and three children: John (*1862), Kate (*1864) and Carie (*1866).

His daughter Carie married Herman Eiling in 1897. By 1900 they were living in Reading Village, Hamilton, Ohio.
